We were once again beneficiaries of the Tucson Saddle Club’s charity ride held in October! We are so grateful for their generosity.
And the money came at the perfect time. We have no idea how he managed to do it, but yesterday we went out to find that Maverick has sliced up his coronet band and sheared off about 2 inches of hoof down to the inner tissue. So instead of the fencing, and other things we were dreaming of being able to do, instead we thankfully have the money to make sure Maverick will get what he needs to get this healed up.
We will be putting Maverick back on the Hoof Health and Growth formula from For Love of the Horse. Right now the major challenge is cleaning and wrapping the hoof. We are thankful for small things, one of which is that Maverick did this on his right leg, not the left. Which makes treatment, wrapping, etc much easier.
Maverick is such an incredible brave guy! He has been awesome about cooperating with us and not fussing, even though we know it’s got to hurt like crazy.
Even though we do have the money from the Tucson Saddle Club, we continue to need donations for the running of Equine Recline, plus this is going to be a long term injury that is going to need a lot of care. Thanks for all of your support and prayers!
