We’ve started Maverick on a homeopathic remedy that was recommended to us called Causticum. This homeopathic is supposed to be excellent for contracted tendons. We started him on it yesterday morning. So far we have not noticed any major differences in him. There is something different but we can’t quite put our finger on it.
We have also ordered something called the Arizona Regional Mix made by Horse Tech. Apparently Arizona hays are typically very high in iron and low in copper. High iron further suppresses copper and according to research we have been doing lately copper deficiency can contribute to contracted tendons. This mix is formulated to make up for the lack of copper in the hay. Hopefully we shall be getting this next week and can get him started on it.
