Life has been interesting around here with the monsoons. We’ve had a lot of flooding on the roads, which have meant waiting for several hours before being able to get home. For the most part the barn is staying dry with some occassional flooding in a couple of the stalls, which is thankfully drying out very quickly.
The wonderful side benefit of course is that the grass is growing like crazy! The horses are wanting out on it constantly. Some of them, okay actually one of them (Maverick) refuses to come in even if it’s pouring rain, so he’s banned from the pasture if we are expecting a storm. Alf is having a ball as he has free access to the pasture all day and all night.
Speaking of Maverick, he managed to escape today, much to his delight. I noticed him happily grazing outside Suerte’s pen as I looked out the dinning room window. I swear he gets into more trouble than all the other horses combined!
If you’ll notice on the website we have a new page titled Rehoming underneath the horses section. This is a page for horses in need of homes that people contact us about. Unfortunately we cannot take in every horse we are contacted about, but hope this might be a help resource to connect horses needing homes and people looking for horses.
